Working Principle of Automobile Gasoline Pump

2023-08-09

The suction and pressure of the fuel injection pump are completed by the reciprocating movement of the plunger inside the plunger sleeve. When the plunger is in the lower position, the two oil holes on the plunger sleeve are opened, and the inner chamber of the plunger sleeve is connected to the oil passage in the pump body, quickly filling the oil chamber with fuel.

1. Oil pump is a type of pump that is both lightweight and compact, with three main categories: inline, distribution, and single unit. The oil pump needs a power source to operate, and the lower camshaft is driven by the engine crankshaft gear.

2. The oil pump proposes an oil pump with a casing made of aluminum containing material and a movable molded part arranged in the casing, wherein the movable molded part is at least partially made of a sintered material containing at least one austenitic iron based alloy, and the molded part made of a sintered material has a thermal expansion coefficient of at least 60% of the thermal expansion coefficient of the casing.

3. The function of the gasoline pump is to suck gasoline out of the fuel tank and press it through the pipeline and gasoline filter to the float chamber of the carburetor. It is precisely because of the gasoline pump that the gasoline tank can be placed at the rear of the car far from the engine and below the engine.

4. Gasoline pumps can be divided into two types according to their driving methods: mechanical driven diaphragm type and electric driven type.
